Welcome to the Carmelites in Zimbabwe o the the Web. Hopefully you will enjoy browsing our site. The aim of our site is to make ourselve known as well as spreading the Carmelite Spirituality to the people of God. You will also find some links to some of the Carmelites world wide. So you can hop to these links and learn more about the Carmelites in other parts of the World. The Carmelite Order is a Roman Catholic Religious Organisation which came first to Zimbabwe in 1946 with the express motive to spread the Good news of God's Kingdom to the People of Mutare and the Archdiocese of Harare. The First Carmelites to work ina Zimbabwe came from Ireland. The Zimbawean Commissariat is an intregral part of the Irish Province. |

We are Friars whose Charateristic it is to be among the people serving their needs, our house being the focal point in the area. Our Heritage emphasizes our adaptability to the changing needs of through out centuries. |
| A foundation of our mission is our fratenity: We have been gathered together by our call to Carmel; we support the spiritual journey of one another; we work together in common mission. Being a contemplative fratenity belongs to our Charism. Since we have come together in answer to God's call we must constantly seek his facein individual and communitarian prayer. We are built up by the word of God pondered by each one and by our communities. Our prophetic charism demands that we be alert to the many ways in wihich God speaks. We see in Elijah and Mary challenging models for our times. |
